Havana, Cuba, 1980. Fidel Castro gives priority to criminals and the mentally insane to leave the country – Ergo the Mariel Boatlift. After finding out his wife is pregnant, Ricardo realizes that Cuba is no place to raise a child and creates a foolproof plan to become a pseudo “Marielito.”
